Pastoral Care
One of Dunottar’s greatest strengths is its well-established pastoral care which ensures that each girl feels that she is a valued member of a caring, supportive community. We are interested in developing the whole child, in personal, social, academic and spiritual dimensions.
Form teachers take day to day responsibility for the welfare, happiness, behaviour and success of their pupils. We operate a zero tolerance bullying policy and expect all our pupils to show care and consideration for others.
We focus on the positive, in the belief that praise and encouragement will enable every girl to learn and thrive in a happy and settled environment. Each girl from Year 2, is allocated to a House which holds regular assemblies, competitions and sporting fixtures. The House System allows Junior and Senior girls to work and socialise together and to foster house loyalty and community achievement.
